Karen Starr and Jamie Eason

My Inspiration! Not only Power Girl but also Jamie Eason are my inspirations for the future.

Power Girl is a beautiful, fit, powerful woman who has her own comic book story, saves the world on a weekly basis and runs Starrware! She does everything but raise children…which I’m sure would be interesting.

I would like to try to be Power Girl for Halloween and I have started going to the gym again and am working on changing my diet. I don’t only want to be fit and healthy for this costume, but for myself and for my personal life! I believe that looking better will help me truly feel better and be able to do more. I have gone to the gym twice this week with my work out partner, who might be Terra for Halloween, we were supposed to go three times but she had to go to Toronto with her boyfriend for his surgery.

I also mentioned Jamie Eason, well she is a beautiful woman, and looks like a very short Power Girl, in fact if they did a movie I would recommend her and the usage of camera trick like that they used for Gimli in Lord of the Rings only opposite.

I truly hope that I stick to this mindset and reach my goals to look and eat better and ultimately make myself feel better and to maybe make my boyfriend a little happier.

Because I love Power Girl, and as I said in my previous article, Chloe Sullivan from Smallville, I have to go out and purchase Batman and Superman: Public Enemies where Allison Mack voices the wonderous Power Girl! I can not wait!
**Small quick peeve – in Smallville they have a Kara Kent that is Super Girl and Wikipedia references it for Power Girl! Not the same character…similarities, but not the same!

Anyways, Have a great geek filled day…watch Smallville, read Power Girl, support out feminine characters from the DC Universe!

Smallville/Superman:

Though I am not a Superman fan, I love Clark Kent…who has a very interesting resemblance to my boyfriend if he’d dye his hair a dark brown and wore more flannel. Even more than my love for Clark is my absolute obsession with Chloe (Allison Mack, who also voiced Power Girl in the Batman Superman: Public Enemies). I need Clark to tell her his secret, I truly want them to date (even though I know they won’t) and I need her to be happy!

I am only on mid season three and I know that is REALLY behind, and like I said in my previous blog about the Titans, I’m working on it! I know that they don’t date cause Clark goes for Lana and then Lois as history has predicted in comics but a girl can still hope. I also know that Clark eventually tells Chloe because I saw a recent episode on television where she is ‘watch tower’ which I find very interesting and motivating. I want to finish all the seasons now, but to power through the seasons wouldn’t do them justice at all. As much as I want to finish I also want to savor the show.

With all that said, I love Lex, I almost jumped for joy when Whitney was truly gone and I cried for Chloe when she looked at the pictures of her and Clark at prom and he was with Lana….oh sadness!!

Anyways, still not a Superman fan, but I am a true Chloe (Allison Mack, who could totally pull off Harley Quinn’s crazy smile if she wanted and looks like a young Mia Sara) fan and will watch her in anything, so I am going out to get Public Enemies with her as my other favorite DC female, Power Girl.

Have a great night and watch some Smallville! Used movie stores sell it for less than $20 a season in Canada so I fully support it!

Titans and my Love of Raven!

For Christmas, or Yule, or whatever people would like to call the holiday where I get presents in winter, my boyfriend gave me 18 of the Titans comics. I am missing 1, 4 and 20 but I am looking forward to finding them and adding them to my collection. I also want to start collecting Teen Titans and Titans GO! I have a small addiction, I know.

I have now read 2, 3, 5-12 and I need to purchase some of the Vigilante comics to finish the Deathtrap story line either this weekend or next. I have found a need a small list of outside comics to finish some of the story lines in Titans, which I believe is a great marketing technique to get readers to purchase more titles. I need some Teen Titans, some Justice League, some Vigilante and a few others.

The beginning of the story line was introductory and gracefully moved to a Raven heavy feel introducing her brothers! Did you know Raven had siblings? How awesome is that…well it isn’t cause they are evil, big shocker, but still interesting.

Raven is the sin called ‘Pride’ the root of all sins and she becomes to realize that the Raven she is around the Titans may not be the real Raven that maybe she is truly evil. Oh Raven you truly are my favorite character.

The comics are also dealing with the Raven/Beast Boy relationship that I am completely supportive of! I love the cover of number 5 with Raven and Beast Boy holding hands, it’s just so well done…and what is that, new artists! I truly suggest this comic to anyone and everyone; it is cute and funny for the young and has nice adult themes with some drama for more advanced or mature readers.

I’m sad that Raven and Beast Boy will probably never truly be together, she keeps pushing him away and has truly hurt him, but in my hopes and dreams they are always together, some comedy to light up Raven oh so dark life.

The team seems to be in turmoil, breaking up, then banding together to fight Trigon (again), and now the Jericho fiasco! Well I won’t ruin too much more, but this series is truly amazing and I know I’m behind being on number 12 when there are over 20 out there, but I’m working on it!

Hiatus!!

I know I haven’t written in a while and I want to apologize for the two month hiatus, but with the holidays, starting my second semester and some personal issues it proved a little difficult to find time to just sit down and read anything let alone write.

A quick overview of my geekette life:

Warhammer/Slaanesh:

I have started painting my daemonettes and hope to get some pictures when I go home this weekend. I have also purchased some fiends that my boyfriend is cleaning up for me and I hope to start working on this weekend or next weekend.

Power Girl/Weightlifting:

This weekend I need to go to J&B or Action Packed and grab the newest issues for December and January so I can get caught up. I lent the rest of my collection to my new friend and gym partner from school. She and I are going to the gym 2 – 4 times a week, only two this week cause her boyfriend has to go to Toronto for surgery. I am hoping she will continue with it and help me stay motivated and focused. This Halloween I want to be Power Girl and she is thinking about being my Terra. So my goal is to be a slightly smaller Power Girl as I am only 5’2”.

Harley Quinn:

I am a little upset with the Gotham City Sirens comics lately, I will continue to buy them and support Harley Quinn and the female characters of Gotham but my faith in the story line and entire comic is long gone…at least I enjoy the art style. (On a small side note not comic related, I am moving in May and I have convinced my family to allow me to take both of my cats including my Harley Quinn kitten.)

Superman:

I am a long time Superman basher with very little appreciation for the character because he was so ‘perfect’ and ‘unbelievable’ and unrealatable. After reading Power Girl and growing extremely attached to her I realize she is just female Superman and all of my dislike was falsely placed and I have no logical reas

on anymore to dislike the character, though I am still not a great fan. I have started watching Smallville, I borrowed the first two seasons from a friend and I am currently watching the third season and purchasing the fourth tomorrow after school.

I will have a separate blog for each of these topics later and I just thought I needed to make a small, or rather long, update to make up for my long hiatus.
