Mystique and Rogue’s New Home

A few month’s ago my boyfriend got me a beautiful young rat. He went out with one of my best friend’s while I was at work and made a wooden cage for me and then got my friend to pick out my new baby. They came to visit me at the store and brought her in a little box to see me. I loved her at first sight. Her name is Patches Darkholme…or Mystique. After having her for a couple of months we realized she was a little lonely and we went back to the pet store to get her new friend. We got the smallest female rat we could and named her Rogue. They have been living in the wooden cage my boyfriend and best friend made for them and the family decided it was time for a change.
My boyfriend’s sister gave us her hand-me-down Guinea Pig cage and we transferred them over today. I know that my boyfriend doesn’t really like the cage and rats are not supposed to be in plastic enclosures but I am sure they will be fine for a little while. My previous cage when I had rats a few years ago was metal; I hope to get another one when I have some disposable cash to splurge on my babies.
Every time we do things with the rats I start to get more excited with my seasons of X-men. I plan to watch the Phoenix and Dark Phoenix Sage while I study for my upcoming tests.

Teen Titans Finale

In between studying for tests, doing 10 page campaigns, and case studies, I took some time out to watch the last season of Teen Titans with my boyfriend. I bought the series this summer and have been watching it from beginning to end with my boyfriend.
I am definitely one of those people who never wants to let something go. I hated when Buffy ended, I hated when Angel ended, I think that X-men and Batman the Animated Series from when I was younger should have never ended and now that I have watched all of Teen Titans I don’t want it to be over, either. It was extremely well done. I grew very attached to all of the characters, and especially Raven.
I believe that the fourth season had to be my favorite because of my love for Raven. I have also decided that Terra needs to go away for good and Beast Boy and Raven need to be together. She needs the funny guy. Robin has Starfire and they are ridiculously cute together, and apparantly they almost got married in the comics. Cyborg has a crush on Jinx and an on and off girlfriend named Sarah. Raven has some unnamed Goth boy that shows up randomly and she needs to be with the amazing Beast Boy.
Now the finale to season five was amazing, it had an epic ending and a ton of characters. The final battle was filled with heroes and villains from throughout the series, and I was extremely happy with the appearance of Argent. In the cartoon she is like a gothic green lantern type character. Her look is very original and I wish she was in the series more, and if there was another season she could have been. So it was a great finale, I had the DVD set to play all, so when my boyfriend and I believed that season was over, another episode started.
“Things Have Changed” based around the fact that Terra is back, but is she really? Her statue is gone, and a high-school student who looks and sounds like her catches Beast Boy’s eye. I was a little upset with this episode, killing the amazing finale from the previous two-parter with the Brotherhood of Evil. This episode seemed pointless, just something to keep watchers (but the series was over so that is a waste), create confusion and bring back some bad memories for Beast Boy.
I believe that the series would have been better without that episode, and if they did need to put it in it should have had some sort of conclusion or have been put in before the finale.
My boyfriend and I are going out to find the Teen Titans movie and I have been playing the video game. Eventually I will hunt down the comic series which was based on the show, which is called Teen Titans Go! I will not let my love of the Titans die.

Raven and Beast Boy forever,

Entering Geekdom

Welcome to my Blog, this is my very first entry. I have never blogged before so bear with me. I am a huge DC fan, but I also enjoy Marvel. Harley Quinn and Kara Starr(Power Girl) are my two DC role models. I collect comic books, am learning how to play Magic and am starting a Warhammer army this winter break so that I can try and go to tournaments next summer. I am not your typical girl, I enjoy beer not coolers, I like fights and cartoons not pointless dramas and I love weightlifting. This is my blog about my geek practices and an outlet for frustration.

Last week I decided to start an army for Warhammer. I wasn't sure which army I should pick, I have been trying to start for months now. I watched games, looked online and read as much as I could read with different fluff and army information. I had first decided I wanted to start an undead army. I love Vampires, I grew up watching Buffy and Angel and reading any books that a vampire was even mentioned in, so I thought it would be a logical choice. I couldn't even get past the assembly stage.

My boyfriend has some Eldar for his 40k and Wood Elves for Fantasy. His friend at the 'portal' asked why I didn't just use one of his old armies because women should, or normally enjoy playing little pansy elves. I laughed. It was hilarious, me with little elves trying to win against the armies of chaos and evil. I am the chick who loved her Forsaken Mage, especially when she tried to flirt with other characters. I have never heard a more revolting pick up lines in my life. (side note, I can't afford WOW and it takes over people's lives, but is an amazing game)

I finally went to one of my local game shops for the first time since I moved this year. It was amazing, much larger then it appeared from the entrance and it was packed with armies and figurines and comic books. I think I may have been in heaven for e brief moment. I was looking at all the different armies in the Warhammer area and remembered my friend painting these interesting miniatures a while ago and I knew what army I was going to start.

That day I purchased my wonderful Deamonettes of Slaanesh! My boyfriend is going to help me turn my general into a Harley Quinn model, painting her black and red, giving her pig tales and a mallet. I can't wait to paint them during break. In between my classes at College I have been reading the Demons of Chaos book. I have decided on a painting scheme and need some more money to finish my army. I can't wait to have them painted, and when I do I will post some beautiful pictures of my sexy deamonettes.
